I wish you could have seen what I saw. Haitians were performing surgeries at night, without lights, with no anesthesia, using vodka to sterilize equipment. It's astonishing what they've been able to accomplish in such devastating conditions.
We delivered the first of the supplies made possible by your support -- generators, gas cans, solar flashlights, bottles of water, food, and medicines. You can be assured that your donations are being put to good use. We've already distributed more than $3 million to 12 organizations on the ground.

Message from President Obama on Haiti Relief
Message from President Obama to William Loiry:
On Tuesday, a catastrophic earthquake struck near Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed, but the death toll -- already in the thousands -- is climbing fast.
This is the worst earthquake to hit the area in more than 200 years. Entire communities have been ripped apart and as many as 3 million people have been directly affected, including tens of thousands of American citizens who are in Haiti.
Our neighbors in Haiti are racing to confront the enormous devastation -- and the OFA community can help.

Footage is pouring in of homes collapsing, Haitians carrying injured family members, and hospitals being overrun in what was already the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere.
I have directed my administration to respond with a swift, coordinated, and aggressive effort to save lives. Personnel from the United States and our partners in the international community are on the ground in damaged areas right now, working side by side with the Haitian people. They're providing much-needed food, water, and sanitation supplies, saving lives and helping local communities start to rebuild.
Despite the fact that we are experiencing tough times here at home, I encourage those who can to reach out and help. It's in times like these that we must show the kind of compassion and humanity that has defined the best of our national character for generations.

William Loiry Celebrates Equity International's 15th Anniversary
Equity International, founded on January 5, 1995, is pleased to celebrate its 15th year anniversary. William Loiry founded the firm on his strong belief and conviction that we can – and should – generate revenue and make the world better at the same time.

In 1998, three years before the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Equity International convened the first conference on the threat of Osama bin Laden to Americans overseas. Since then, it has convened countless conferences, roundtables, and trade shows facilitating solutions in aviation security, border security, bioterrorism, emergency communications, and global security.
In 2008, when the U.S. State Department needed help with a major international conference on renewable energy, Equity International used all of its considerable resources to help make the event an historic forum, which featured almost 9,000 delegates from 119 countries.
Extremely important, from 2005 to today, Equity International has been a strong supporter of the Clinton Global Initiative, which has brought together more than 100 current and former heads of state, global CEOs, and major philanthropists to tackle the world’s most urgent problems, including poverty, health, education, economic development, clean energy, and climate change. Clinton Global Initiative members have made nearly 1,700 commitments valued at $57 billion, which have already improved more than 200 million lives.
We have received considerable praise from many leaders, including President Bill Clinton, the first Homeland Security Secretary – Tom Ridge, mayors and governors, CEOs and nonprofit leaders, military leaders and diplomats. Our efforts have received extensive news media coverage, from CNN and Fox to The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times.
Perhaps most gratifying of all is the knowledge that, with few resources and iron grit, we made the world a better place.
